Physique Altering ProteinIt's not
squats; it's not low carb dieting
or restricting water intake to several ounces
per day. NO, it's not
even the 10 to 15 painful injections
per week. The killer challenge that
bodybuilders, fitness competitors and everyone (you included)
must endure is eating 6 to 7
real food meals everyday! Frequent consumption
of real food is critical for building
and maintaining a lean and muscular body.
Anyone who has played the iron
game long enough figures out that real
food is superior than MRP's or protein
shakes for bodybuilding success. This is
precisely why VPX has been on a
five year scientific journey to develop a
supplement that possesses far greater anabolic and
anti-catabolic properties than real food. In
October of 2001 VPX celebrated victory over
real food with a Bioactive Superfood called,
Micellean!
Macronutrient Profile
Evaluating protein based only on
absorption would lead us to the faulty
conclusion that various whey proteins and free
form amino acids are superior protein sources.
However, nothing could be further from
the truth. Creating a meal replacement
from a medical perspective has to begin
with a pharmacokinetic approach. A
combination of slow, intermediate and fast proteins
must be meticulously formulated and serve as
the foundation of what will be referred
to from now on as the SUPERFOOD.
We
learned years ago that, although the fastest
absorbed, free form amino acids are vastly
inferior to chains of several or more
linked amino acids, called peptides. Now
many years later it has now been
proven that slowly dispersed proteins out perform
fast-acting proteins (even ones with higher biological
values). Introducing the medical/pharmaceutical term, pharmacokinetics
to the nutrition industry, VPX understands the
need for certain substances like protein, methoxyflavone,
prohormones, etc…to be dispersed continuously throughout the
bloodstream and shuttled into the muscle in
"steady state" fashion.
While the trend in the
industry has been to focus merely on
absorption, VPX always looks at the total
Pharmacokinetic picture. Pharmacokinetics scientifically evaluates how
drugs or nutrients are metabolized with particular
emphasis on 1) time required for
absorption, 2) duration of action,
3) distribution in the body and 4)
method of excretion.
Because of its' dramatic influence
on body composition, countless real food protein,
carbs and fat were researched, analyzed and
then compared to protein and meal replacement
powders. In creating Micellean Bioactive Superfood
VPX had to take a fresh scientific
approach and toss out all previous groundwork
laid by other compares. From the
lack of undenatured new-age protein and EFA's
to high glycemic carbs, today's MRP's offered
no insight whatsoever into developing a superfood.
VPX initial step was to create
a product free from the myriad of
nutrients and additives that were counter-products to
fat loss, muscle growth, and overall health.
Protein
found in real food like chicken, fish,
eggs and lean red meat is not
denatured and releases slow and steady into
the blood - the exact opposite of
whey protein. Whole food carbohydrates like
brown rice, oatmeal, barley, sweet potatoes are
not refined or processed and enter the
blood in a controlled steady state.
These unrefined carbs promote a gradual release
of insulin and maintain energy levels for
extended periods of time. Maltodextrin is
diametrically contrast - it enters the blood
rapidly, spikes sugar and insulin levels and
provides no fiber. Fats in nuts
and flax seeds are not hydrogenated and
contained no harmful trans-fatty acids. Natural unrefined
fats improve health and aid in fat
loss while hydrogenated oils and other processed
fats cause a huge range of health
problems. These fats not only promote
fat storage, they also prevent utilization of
fat as energy.
